Education and Training in Professional Grief Management

Kevin Bean on Education

Bean’s career began with education and training.

Kevin Bean’s respect and compassion are his own; they are not something that he needed to study or get a degree in. For the other skills required in the professional funeral business, though, he made sure to obtain a quality education.

This education began in his hometown of Reading, PA, when he began pursuing his pre-medical studies at Albright College. With these studies, Kevin Bean, funeral director in training, focused primarily on the sciences to ready himself for his chosen career field.

After transferring out of Albright, Bean enrolled at Penn State University and finished up his undergraduate studies. He graduated with a degree in liberal arts and joined the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science to pursue a job in the funeral business.

To complete his training, Bean finished up his mortuary science education with a year’s internship in the funeral industry, thus obtaining hands-on experience. Once completed, he obtained his funeral director’s license. He then immediately pursued the next step along his chosen career path, which was to start his own funeral home in his own hometown.

Kevin Bean Thanked by Families

Kevin Bean is touched when he receives thanks from families.

Kevin Bean, funeral director, is not just all business, though. In addition to his expert professional services, he also stands out thanks to his sincere compassion and support for the families that come to him for help. Throughout his funerary career, his main priority has always been helping to comfort the grieving during their time of mourning. Making Paying Respect Affordable Again

Unfortunately, all funerals come with a financial side that can be difficult for some to deal with, as Kevin Bean knows all too well. While necessary to the funeral process, these expenses can quickly add up to much more than some families are able to easily pay. This economic stress can make an already difficult time that much harder, especially for low income families already struggling to get by.

This is why Kevin Bean, funeral director, also started the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home. Here he provides the same level and quality of attention and care that families receive at his Bean Funeral Homes and Crematory. The difference is that Whelan Schwartz has been specially designed so that lower income families can better afford the funeral services that their loved ones deserve. In this way, they can pay their respects to the departed without financially crippling themselves in the process.
